Johannes Høsflot Klæbo is a Norwegian cross-country skier and one of the most successful athletes in the sport’s history.

On je petostruki olimpijski šampion i ukupno osvajač sedam olimpijskih medalja.

He is a five-time Olympic champion with seven Olympic medals in total.

Do 2025. godine osvojio je šest zlatnih medalja na Svetskom prvenstvu u Tronhajmu i postao najtrofejniji muški kros-kantri skijaš na tim prvenstvima.

By 2025 he won six golds at the World Championships in Trondheim and became the most decorated male cross-country skier at the Worlds.

Takođe je višestruki osvajač Svetskog kupa i Tour de Ski, sa kristalnim globusima 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 i 2025.

He is also a multiple World Cup and Tour de Ski winner, with overall globes in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2025.

Klæbo builds his form on high endurance volume, precise technique, and explosive power that give him an edge in sprints and finishes.

On detaljno analizira stazu i segment po segment planira kada menja tehniku i kada ubrzava.

He analyzes each course in detail and plans, segment by segment, when to change technique and when to accelerate.

Njegovi treninzi uključuju visinske kampove (npr. Park Siti i Davos), što pomaže adaptaciji i kontroli intenziteta.

His training includes altitude camps (e.g., Park City and Davos), which support adaptation and intensity control.

Na sopstvenom kanalu deli snimke najtežih treninga u godini i rada na tehnici.

On his own channel he shares footage of his toughest sessions of the year and technique work.

Upravljanje treninzima, tim i odnosi

After parting with the national team in 2023, he organized a private setup with his father as manager and his grandfather Kåre as a long-time coach.

This model gave him more autonomy in season planning, race selection, and periodization.

Podrška porodice i bliskih ljudi je stalna; čak i praznike često provodi u visini zbog priprema.

Support from family and close ones is constant; he often even spends holidays at altitude for preparation.

Samoregulacija, samodisciplina i psihologija

Klæbo is known for micromanaging details—technique, equipment, recovery, and sleep—which demands strong self-discipline.

In interviews he has emphasized an almost “ascetic” lifestyle during championship periods, staying laser-focused on goals.

Mentalno, on kombinuje strpljenje na prvim kilometrima sa agresivnim, taktičkim završetkom.

Mentally, he combines patience in the early kilometers with an aggressive, tactical finish.

Tip inteligencije (analitička procena za sportskog menadžera)

Po IPER tipologiji, Klæbo deluje kao kombinacija Homo Intuitivus (vizuelno planiranje, osećaj ritma staze) i Homo Rationalis (kontrola podataka, tempo, tranzicije).

By the IPER typology, Klæbo appears to be a blend of Homo Intuitivus (visual planning, feel for course rhythm) and Homo Rationalis (data control, pace, transitions).

Ova kombinacija objašnjava njegovu sposobnost da „vidi“ scenario trke unapred i hladno primeni plan.

This combination explains his ability to “see” the race scenario in advance and coolly execute the plan.

Lekcije za studenta sportskog menadžmenta

  1. Postavi jasne ciljeve i organizuj tim oko atletinog „načina rada“, čak i ako to znači privatnu strukturu.

  2. Set clear goals and organize the team around the athlete’s way of working, even if that means a private setup. ProXCskiing

  4. Technique, strength, and tactical thinking must be trained together, not separately. ProXCskiing

  5. Visinske pripreme i pažljivo doziranje intenziteta daju dugoročne efekte, ali traže dobru samoregulaciju.

  6. Altitude camps and careful intensity dosing have long-term effects but require strong self-regulation. VGYouTube

  7. Porodična i socijalna podrška utiču na stabilnost performansa kroz sezonu.

  8. Family and social support influence performance stability throughout the season. newsinenglish.no

  9. Medijska transparentnost (vlogovi) može da pojača brend atletе i doprinese sponzorstvima bez narušavanja fokusa.

  10. Media transparency (vlogs) can strengthen an athlete’s brand and support sponsorships without harming focus.

Evo živog, вероятnog dijaloga na seminaru

Prof.: Kako bi u jednoj rečenici sažeo svoju tezu o Klæbou?

Prof.: How would you summarize your thesis about Klæbo in one sentence?

Student: Klæbo succeeds by combining intuitive course reading with tightly controlled training data and a small, well-aligned support team.

Prof.: Which key performance indicators would his management track every week?

Student: HRV i puls u mirovanju, laktat na standardnim brzinama, RPE posle svake sesije, kvalitet sna, i taktičke metrike poput pozicije ulaska u finiš.

Student: HRV and resting heart rate, lactate at standard speeds, session RPE, sleep quality, and tactical metrics like position entering the finish.

Ana (classmate): What about media content—how much is his vlogging part of the strategy?

Student: It’s a branding and sponsorship tool, but with clear guardrails: no real-time recovery details and no tactical plans before races.

Marko (classmate): If we applied a similar model in Montenegro, are Kolašin and Durmitor enough for periodization?

Student: Da, kao baza: zimi sneg u Kolašinu (1450/1600), leti roleri i bicikl; povremeno visinski kamp u Alpima kao “špic”.

Student: Yes, as a base: snow in Kolašin (1450/1600) in winter, rollers and cycling in summer; occasional altitude camp in the Alps as a peak stimulus.

Prof.: Opisi mi jednu “tipičnu” nedelju u pripremnom periodu za sprintera poput njega.

Prof.: Describe a “typical” week in the preparatory period for a sprinter like him.

Student: Dve sesije tehnike na snegu/rolerima, dve jače snage (eksploziv), jedan intervalni dan, dva duga aeroba sa fokusom na ekonomiju koraka.

Student: Two technique sessions on snow/rollers, two strength sessions (explosive), one interval day, and two long aerobic days focusing on movement economy.

Ana: Kako on održava samoregulaciju kad dođe umor ili loš dan?

Ana: How does he maintain self-regulation when fatigue or a bad day hits?

Student: Koristi “stop-loss” pravilo: prekida sesiju kad RPE i puls “odšrafte” od plana, premesti kvalitet na sledeći dan, prioritet su san i ishrana.

Student: He uses a “stop-loss” rule: cuts a session when RPE and heart rate drift from plan, moves quality to the next day, prioritizing sleep and nutrition.

Prof.: Rizik-menadžment: prehlada usred sezone—šta radi tim?

Prof.: Risk management: a cold mid-season—what does the team do?

Student: Dan-dva mirovanja, šetnja i nosno disanje, potom povratak preko Z1→Z2; intervali tek kad se vrate HRV i apetit, bez “hero” treninga.

Student: One to two days off, walking and nasal breathing, then a return via Zone 1→Zone 2; intervals only when HRV and appetite normalize—no “hero” workouts.

Marko: A odnos sa trenerom i porodicom—kako to uklapaš u menadžment?

Marko: And the relationship with the coach and family—how do you fit that into management?

Student: Jasno podeljene uloge: trener vodi metod, menadžer plan sezone i ugovore, porodica drži rutinu—jedan glas prema medijima.

Student: Clearly divided roles: coach leads the method, manager handles season planning and contracts, family preserves routines—one voice to the media.

Prof.: What’s his psychological profile in your view?

Student: Visoka taktička strpljivost + agresivna završnica; po IPER-u miks Intuitivus (osećaj ritma staze) i Rationalis (hladna egzekucija plana).

Student: High tactical patience plus an aggressive finish; in IPER terms a mix of Intuitivus (feel for course rhythm) and Rationalis (cool plan execution).

Ana: How would you turn that into a task for our project team?

Student: I’d build a dashboard with eight KPIs, a content calendar, and red-flag protocols; we’d run a four-week pilot in Kolašin.

Prof.: Dobar okvir. Završna poruka za sportskog menadžera?

Prof.: Good framework. Final message for a sports manager?

Student: Sistem pobeđuje talenat kad je dosledan: precizna tehnika, doziranje intenziteta, zaštita fokusa i tim koji govori istim jezikom.

Student: System beats talent when it’s consistent: precise technique, controlled intensity, protection of focus, and a team that speaks the same language.

Prof.: Hvala. Do sledećeg časa donesite mini-studiju izvedivosti za naš “Kolašin pilot”.

Prof.: Thank you. For next class, bring a short feasibility study for our “Kolašin pilot.”
