Об экзамене IELTS
В ряде учебных заведений стран Европы, Азии и Америки приветствуется сертификат о сдаче IELTS, поскольку преподавание ведется на английском языке, например, в сфере информационных технологий или в программах по управлению бизнесом.
Многие люди изучают IELTS, когда хотят переехать, поскольку задания Кембриджа сформированы так, что человек получает погружение в англоязычную среду и адаптируется к ней.
Экзамен IELTS исследует 4 языковые умения: Speaking, Reading, Writing, Listening. Формат экзамена описан на официальном сайте Кембриджа. В разделе IELTS Writing Вы выполняете 2 задания за 60 минут всего. Если Вы сдаете IELTS с целью переезда в англоязычную страну, то Вы сдаете вариант IELTS General, в котором Вы пишите сначала письмо на 150 слов минимум, а затем эссе на 250 слов минимум. Письмо может быть личное (другу), полуформальное (незнакомому человеку) и формальное (официальному лицу, например). Если Вы сдаете IELTS с целью обучения на английском языке, то к этому надо готовиться и указать в заявке, что Вы сдаете Academic вариант.
В Academic Вы пишите в 1 задании не письмо, а описываете график, диаграмму, цикл, процесс. Это умение для русскоязычных мало понятное, мало освоенное. В то время как английский весь про описание процессов. Описание графиков мы будем исследовать в другом спецкурсе. Здесь мы осваиваем эссе, это второе задание, одинаковое для Academic и General вариантов IELTS. В эссе Вы выражаете вашу точку зрения на заданную тему.
В этом курсе мы рассказываем о том, какие эссе бывают, как лучше подготовиться, на что обратить внимание, показываем примеры, даем темы. В первых трех видео дается полный разбор примеров эссе на высший балл и вариант составления собственного эссе на том же уровне. В блоге под ссылками выложены примеры эссе в виде текста с по-фразовым переводом и озвучкой.
Озвучка важна, потому что одни и те же приблизительно темы циркулируют в задания IELTS Speaking и Writing, их около 70, это большой объем. Поэтому, правильно будет брать тему и отрабатывать ее с точки зрения всех 4 умений: когда пишите - проговаривайте, слушайте, читайте с переводом. Это даст Вам возможность пройти большую часть тем и быть способным сказать, написать, прочитать и ответить, если попадется.
Далее даны эссе на видео в формате диктанта. Вы будете слушать медленное прочтение, запишите ручкой или на клавиатуре диктуемый текст, это очень помогает осмыслить и запомнить, как слова, так и строй предложений в абзацах.
Также в виде примеров заданий даны темы IELTS для эссе последних лет, но надо помнить, что темы видоизменяются, не повторяются, добавляются актуальные каждый сезон. Такова специфика и сложность IELTS. Тем не менее очень полезно пройтись по списку тем с примерами, потому что базовые темы остаются в том же наборе, могут меняться формулировки, добавляются производные от них темы, добавляются современные аспекты, которые Вы сами можете прочитать где-то в новостях. Важно усвоить алгоритм, суть и схему работы.
Итак, этот курс посвящен эссе.
Эссе – замечательный элемент англоязычной культуры. Это основной способ выражения идей для большинства людей, от школьников и студентов до ученых во всех сферах, на любом уровне. Эссе имеет четкую логическую структуру, именно этим эссе ценно.
В России никто не учит ни школьников, ни студентов, ни взрослых писать эссе, как это принято в англоязычной культуре, подразумевают, что «итак все понятно умному». В то же время, чиновники-педагоги ожидают, что ученики «сами» напишут эссе на экзамене ровно так, как принято в англоязычной культуре и выставляют баллы по соответствию нативным образцам. Поэтому воспользуйтесь этим курсом как следует, мы объясняем то, что никто другой может и не объяснит. Мы пользуемся рефлексией, как методом при подготовке, другие рефлексию не любят - считают слишком трудоемкой. Но без рефлексии невозможно научиться думать самостоятельно.
В дополнение, монологическое задание устной части экзамена по структуре – такое же эссе, но в устной форме и немного короче. Так, из прочитанного за 2,5 минуты эссе Вам нужно сделать 2‑х минутный текст для говорения, убрав несколько предложений с описанием деталей по своему выбору, и получится монолог на ту же тему.

Знание языка рождается от припоминания и повторного воспроизведения на свой лад.
